CONSTRUCTION PLANNING

Construction planning is one of the most important aspects of any home builder. By understanding the different stages of construction and what needs to be done in each stage, you can ensure your home is completed on time and on budget.

Construction planning is an important part of any project. It can helpful to ensure the project is completed on time in given budget. The following tips can help you plan a construction project successfully:

1.                  Plan your project thoroughly.

Start by gathering all the necessary information. This includes the specifications of the project, the costs involved, and the timeline. Make sure to include all potential delays and contingencies, so you can adjust your timeline as needed.

2. Create a timeline.

Once you have all the information, create a timeline for the project. This will help you identify key milestones and keep track of when things are supposed to happen.

In order to start planning, you’ll need to know the following:

1)      -The budget for your project

2)      -The size of your home

3)      -Type of construction used

4)      -The timeline of your project

5)      -The materials you’ll need

6)     -The permits you’ll need

Construction Project and Types of Planning

To be successful, planning must be done rationally, completely, and honestly. The fundamental planning logic is provided by prior project experiences. To incorporate any unusual aspects into the fundamental planning logic, it is necessary to understand the differences between the current project and it’s previous. These variations may include a specific client request, an unusual location, potential external or internal delaying reasons, etc. When creating the project's master plan and later scheduling, these possible issues must be addressed in order to lessen their negative effects. Give each component of the plan a thorough examination with advice from experts and past experiences.

Types of Construction Project Planning

1.      Strategic planning:

This includes the high-level selection of the project objectives

2.      Operational planning:

This includes the detailed planning required to meet the strategic objectives.

3.      Scheduling:

Scheduling is a timeline for every task and event in a construction project planning.

Construction Master Plan?

A construction master plan describes how the project will be organized, planned, and key work activities will be regulated to accomplish the objectives of finishing the job on schedule, within specified financial constraints, and as intended. The master construction plan, which provides solutions to many questions, is created with the contracting plan as the primary focus. Contracting plans do not address issues with governmental and societal restrictions, construction resources, owner policies or legal requirements, or contractual requirements influencing master plans. These queries must have answers during the creation of the project execution plan.

As work advances, the project execution plan will be reviewed and evaluated. Minor modifications are typical, but major ones should be carefully examined. The master plan for the building project must be finished and approved before the time plan (scheduling), budget plan, and resource plan can be implemented.
